The University is looking for dynamic and creative individual to join the team of senior educators in teaching, research and outreach activities in the field of literature and language. The appointee will be responsible to the Dean of the School of Humanities & Arts and will be required to carry out teaching, course co-ordination and curriculum development in areas of expertise and related discipline as well as engage in other activities as required at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This is a senior position in the School and thus the appointee will also be required to provide academic and administrative leadership, foster excellence in research, policy development in area of expertise, and ensure that activities associated with tutorials, lecturing, examination paper preparation and marking are to be implemented according to policies and procedures of the University. The appointee will also be responsible for demonstrating good practice in teaching, learning and assessment through the use of a wide range of learning resources and appropriate pedagogic practices and is expected to make contributions to the teaching effort of the University and to carry out activities which will maintain and develop their scholarly, research and/or professional activities relevant to the profession or discipline.
A Professor/Associate Professor must have a PhD degree in English Literature or related field with significant relevant tertiary teaching experience. In addition to this, a record of demonstrable scholarly and professional achievement in the relevant discipline area is essential with demonstrated ability to supervise students at Masters and PhD levels. A Professor/Associate Professor is expected to have experience in curriculum writing and course development. Must have established amount of research and paper publications.
Salary: Professor FJD 88,705 – FJD 105,655
Associate Professor FJD 69,930 – FJD 86,580
Duration: All appointments are for a contract period of 3 years and are renewable by mutual agreement.
