Thank you, Erika and Ellinor for the \u201cfika\u201d today.\u00a0 We had a great experience hosting these two Swedish students at SoST. Ms. Erika Rebhan and Ms. Ellinor Wahnstr\u00f6m are MSc students from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden.<\/span> They have been in Fiji for over a month to work on their MSc thesis \u201cEmergency supply of energy during natural disasters in Fiji<\/i>\u201d, which is being co-supervised by Dr. Ramendra Prasad from the Department of Science.<\/span><\/p>

Erika and Ellinor threw a traditional Swedish \u201cfika\u201d for SoST colleagues to thank them for the assistance they provided during their stay here in Fiji.<\/span> A \u201cfika\u201d is a very common concept in Sweden. During a Swedish \u201cfika\u201d people drink coffee or tea, eat pastries and socialize. In most Swedish workplaces it is therefore customary to have a \u201cfika\u201d at least once per day. <\/span><\/p>

There was much laughter and chatter in today\u2019s \u201cfika\u2019 with everyone absolutely enjoying the tasty Swedish pastries such as K\u04d3rleksmums, Chockladbollar and Kanelnullar.
