CIRA Director, Mr. Robin Nair participates in an International Conference in Auckland |
Mr Robin Nair was invited to deliver a Paper by the prestigious Oceanic Conference in International Studies (OCIS IV 2010) at the Auckland University in New Zealand from 30 June to 2 July. He spoke on the topic: “Prospects for Fiji”: Whither Australia’s Role in the Affairs of the Pacific Island Countries”. It was a refereed Paper. He was also invited to a Round Table at the Conference to Discuss “Teaching International Relations in the Pacific”. The Oceanic Conference on International Studies (OCIS) is an initiative to facilitate the coming together of the growing community of international studies researchers in Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific and beyond. The inaugural OCIS conference was held at the Australian National University in 2004 and it has subsequently been hosted by the University of Melbourne (2006) and the University of Queensland (2008). The University of Auckland and Victoria University of Wellington jointly hosted OCIS IV in Auckland. The fourth OCIS conference in Auckland engaged with a wide range of themes, true to the original objectives of OCIS of advancing a pluralistic regional community of international studies scholars.
