Entry Requirements
Students Proceeding Directly from Form 7 or Equivalent Examinations
Students who have successfully completed Form 7 or Equivalent examination can directly enrol in Degree, Diploma or Certificate level programmes. The entry requirements for all three levels are the same at least 250 marks, and at least 50% marks in English and Mathematics. A minimum of 50% marks in Accounting is required for majoring in Accounting.
Admission with Standing/Mature Entry
Persons who are not eligible to be admitted under the eligibility provisions of any programme may be granted permission by the Senate to enroll for that programme as ‘admission with standing'. In coming to a decision on any application for admission,the Senate shall take into account the person's age, academic background, the nature of the employment or occupation in which the person has been engaged, the programme applied for, and the likelihood of them being able to satisfy the requirements of the programme in which they seek to enrol. The Senate may also require the person to pass such examinations or tests as it may prescribe as a prerequisite for any such enrolment.

Areas of Study
The University offers courses through its five Schools : School of Business and Economics; School of Science and Technology; and the School of Humanities and Arts. Students can apply for entry into the University's Degree; Diploma; Certificate; or Pre-Degree Studies (equivalent to Fiji 7th Form); Unclassified Studies; or Postgraduate Studies.

Cross Credits

The University considers applications for cross-credits of courses done at other tertiary institutions.

Criteria for the Award of Cross-Credits:  The following criteria shall govern the award of cross-credits:

a) Where the examinations passed or credits gained elsewhere or at the University for another programme, substantially correspond with, or are equivalent to, courses in a programme of study for which the candidate is enrolled at The University of Fiji, specified cross-credits may be awarded.

b) Where examinations passed or credits gained elsewhere or for another programme of study at the University do not correspond with, but are relevant to, courses in a programme of study for which a candidate is registered at The University of Fiji, a limited number of unspecified cross-credits may be awarded depending on the structure of the programme of study concerned.

c) In cross-crediting courses, consideration shall be given to the contents of the courses for which students are applying for cross-credits, and relevance of their intervening experience.
