The department of Accounting & Finance is delighted to announce the launch of its new qualification for the 2012 academic year. The Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Accounting (PGDPA) aims to further develop Accounting graduates in areas such as Ethics and Corporate Governance for Accountants, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Forensic Auditing, Financial Statement Analysis, Advanced Taxation Law and Procedures, Insolvency Law and Practice and Public Sector Accounting.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Accounting consists of 4 courses (2 core courses and 2 electives).
Trimester 1 2012 offering: ACC 431 Fraud Examination
Delivery
Courses will be offered on a trimester mode with 12 teaching weeks followed by a final examination. Courses will be delivered after hours and on Saturdays.
Entry Requirement
Candidates would normally have completed the undergraduate requirements for admission to the FIA that is a degree with a major in Accounting from a recognised institution. Entry would be allowed to graduates to complete ACC431 (Fraud Examination), ACC428 (Public Sector Accounting and ACC442 (Insolvency Law and Practice) from any discipline as a one off and not part of a PGDPA.
